SGPC QUESTIONED…why are you sleeping? – asks Dhadrianwale “Sarkari Hukamname” 10 teams to probe RSS leaders attack, but no such steps for Guru Ji’s Beadbi?
Setting out the vital facts and exposing the truths whilst speaking at the Sunam Diwaan near Sangrur on 20 August 2016, Bhai Ranjit Singh Khalsa Dhadrianwale raised direct questions to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), its President and members, requesting them to consider the institutions golden historic formation and awaken their sleeping conscience.
The politicians indicate a move to forgive the Sauda Saadh, and a ‘no questions asked’ culture follows the command through. Government-sponsored “Sarkari Hukamname” take precedence over the morality of the Sikh nation. It should not be forgotten that when the SGPC was formed in the early part of the twentieth century, resolutions were passed that gangsters like the Mahant Narain Das would not be permitted to control the management of the Gurdwara’s. If one examines the management of the SGPC during that time and the courage and steadfast stance for Sikh principles by those leaders and members, then makes comparison to the state of affairs today, there is no doubt that based on their actions it seems the same spirit of that Mahant has returned within many of the current members, albeit with new attire, Kirpans and Dastars.
Jagdish Gagneja, the vice-president of the Punjab unit of the RSS, was recently attacked and the state authorities were quick to set-up 10 special teams to probe the incident that had angered the RSS and the BJP, offering awards and jobs for anyone who could put forward intelligence to locate the attackers.
Bhai Ranjit Singh Khalsa stated, “We could not care less if they set-up 50 special teams and it is perfectly acceptable for the law to probe any such incident, but our concern is why the same immediate steps could not have been taken to probe the on-going incidents of Beadbi against Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj?”
The SGPC is often seen as the ‘mini-parliament’ of the Sikhs, but today, “why is the SGPC sleeping?” he asked. Why is our SGPC silent on this major issue, why is it unable to raise its voice to compel the Punjab Government to hunt down and legally punish the perpetrators of sacrilege against Guru Granth Sahib Ji? Why is the SGPC President quiet and unable to lobby the state authorities on the issue of Beadbi and apply pressure for them to also form 10 special teams to probe the criminal activity in the same way they were able to take immediate steps to investigate the attack on the RSS Punjab vice-president? The general public should not have to sit on the roads conducting Dharna’s, the SGPC members should be at the forefront to protest on behalf of the Sikh nation. Not all of the SGPC membership is the same, but it is unfortunate to witness the modern-day spirit of Mahant Narain Das present in many today.
Bhai Ranjit Singh Khalsa pledged that if the SGPC does what it was created to do, if the old values returned to the institution, if the multi-million rupees budget from Sangat donations was not often being misused, then the management of Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Sahib would also be handed over to them without delay.
