New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann, who on Thursday live streamed a video clip of his journey from home to Parliament, has finally apologised for his act. He said that this won’t be repeated again. He further added that he never wanted to put the security of Parliament at threat and that’s why he has apologised in writing to the Lok Sabha Speaker. Mann added that he met the Speaker and told her that he must be given an opportunity to explain his intentions.
Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann gave an unconditional apology on Friday for filming and circulating a live video of his journey to Parliament that showed security pickets and their positions at the high-security zone.
Facing criticism for uploading the 11-minute clip on social media that raised questions over the safety of lawmakers, Mann said: “I apologise unconditionally…I assure that this won’t be repeated.”
Mann was believed to have been pulled by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan earlier in the day when he appeared before her at 11.10am over the incident, sources in her office said.
In his apology letter, Mann said he made the video by mistake on way to Parliament to attend the Zero Hour on Thursday. “I did not know that it is against the rules.”
Delhi Police may register a case against Mann as officials were seeking legal advice in the case.
