Four officers of Patiala Central Jail dismissed from service

Cracking the whip against those violating jail manuals with impunity and patronizing extortion, torture, inhuman treatment besides unnatural acts, Punjab Jail Department on Thursday dismissed four officers of Patiala Central Jail.
An enquiry was entrusted to IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh regarding the allegations levelled by the family members of inmates, namely Brajesh Thakur and Kiranveer Singh, lodged in Patiala Central Jail pertaining to inhuman torture, extortion as well as unnatural acts being committed with their kin by certain jail officers in collusion with the gangsters lodged in the jail, said Punjab Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.Randhawa said that pursuant to the enquiry, Deputy Superintendent Grade-2 and the then Superintendent Central Jail Patiala Rajan Kapoor, Assistant Superintendents Central Jail Patiala Vikas Sharma and Sukhjinder Singh and Head Warder Central Jail Patiala Pragan Singh have been ordered to be dismissed from the service.
