Police informer ‘linked for priest’s missing Rs 6 crore’ is PO

PATIALA: Police informer Harvinder Singh alias ‘Babbu 12 Bore’, who had an ambiguous role in getting the two absconding ASIs shifted to Khanna unofficially from Patiala to carry out raids at Father Anthony Madessary’s residence in Jalandhar, from where Rs 6.66 crore had gone missing, has allegedly not been arrested since 2017 despite being declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in a cheque bounce case.
According to a resident of Masitan village in Haryana’s Sirsa district, Capt Amarinder Singh, Babbu owed him Rs 3.5 lakh and had given him two cheques which bounced. Amarinder claimed the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Inderjit Singh (Patiala) had pronounced Babbu a PO in the case on January 7, 2017 and that he has been absconding ever since. Yet, two days ago, Babbu openly gave an interview to a private TV channel.
