In a shocking revelation, a businessman and social activist has claimed he gave Akali Dal MP Prem Singh Chandumajra a bribe of Rs 1 crore through one of MP’s associates, who is also a member of the Working Committee of SAD, to get him nominated as a member of the State Human Rights Commission. The businessman, who splits his time between Dubai and Punjab, is now fighting a long and lonely battle to get his money back after the “promise” was not fulfilled.
Er Jaspreet Singh Sidhu, son of Harbhajan Singh Sidhu, a resident of Chandigarh and president of International Human Rights Organization, even shot off a letter in the form of a complaint to none other than Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SAD president and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal requesting them to investigate the matter impartially or refer it to the CBI so that he can get his “hard earned money” back. The letters were sent on September 24, 2015.
In his complaint to the SAD president, Sidhu introduced himself as a Dubai-based businessman and an active social worker who has brought back many Punjabi prisoners from Arab and Asian countries. He claimed his organization has 2,000 members.
In his complaint, Sidhu stated that after paying the money, he met Chandumajraa number of times and was assured by the MP that “his work was under process”.
