In an encounter, the Hoshiarpur Police on Wednesday arrested three main accused of ‘Kala Falahi gang’ wanted in the murder of Manpreet Singh, a law student, who was killed at Regional Campus of Swami Sarvanand Giri Punjab University, Bajwara last month.Addressing a press conference, Hoshiarpur SSP Kuldip Singh Chahal said that when the police tried to stop the XYLO car, three youth hurriedly tried to rush the car towards Binowal to Mansowal village road. “One of the car borne youth fired at the police party. In return, the police party also fired at the car of the accused and the bullet hit one of the tyres of the vehicle, after which it hit a stock of gravel on the roadside”, he said.
The SSP said that upon arresting the trio, they were indentified as Satwinder Singh alias Kala, a resident of Falahi (Mehtiana), Satnam Singh alias Amna, resident of Hazipur from Garhshankar and Bhupinder Kumar alias Sonu from Maruli Brahmana also from Mehtiana.
