Around 70 youth returned from Delhi airport, know the reason
A travel agent from Hoshiarpur has robbed 70 Punjabi Youth with fake ticket and visa. He charged Rs 80 thousand from each.
In another incident,The Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of the Punjab police today nabbed a Tarn Taran resident, identified as Kuldeep Singh, for possessing Rs 10,000 fake Indian currency.
He was arrested following interrogation of Manoj Kumar of Batala, who was nabbed earlier for preparing fake currency with computer. He was held by the CI on November 1.
In a statement here today, Inspector General (Counter Intelligence) MF Farooqui said during investigation Manoj revealed that Kuldeep Singh son of Kashmir Singh and resident Dashmesh Colony, Tarn Taran, had purchased fake currency from him to make payments to his customers.
Kuldeep works as a travel agent. Farooqui said a police team was immediately dispatched to Tarn Taran, who arrested Kuldeep and recovered counterfeit currency of Rs 500 denomination worth Rs 10,000 from him.
Kuldeep confessed before the police that he purchased Rs 1 lakh fake currency by paying Rs 30,000 to Manoj. He managed to circulat Rs 90,000 out Rs 1 lakh in the market.
Earlier, Manoj was arrested by the Pathankot unit of the CI for preparing fake currency with help of a computer. Fake currency worth Rs 77,000 was recovered from his possession. A case under Sections 489-A, 489-B and 489-C of the IPC was registered against him at the State Special Operation Cell office here.
