Punjabi youth killed in fatal road accident in Australia.A 24-year-old Punjabi youth died after he met with a fatal accident on a highway at Salisbury South in Australia on January 3.The deceased has been identified as Jatinder Singh Brar, a resident of Punjab’s Faridkot district.Jatinder used to work as a part-time truck driver for two years after he finished studying. He completed his Masters of Accounting at Flinders University. He attended his graduation ceremony in mid-December.More than $85,000 has been raised in two days to help support the family of a young truck driver who was killed in an alleged high-speed hit-and-run crash in Adelaide’s north-east.Friends of Jatinder Brar, who was killed in Salisbury South on Friday, have rallied to support his mother and sister.Mr Brar, 25, was working as a Woolworths truck driver when he was allegedly hit by a stolen white Ford Territory which had been travelling at high speed and was engaged in a short police pursuit about 11:45am.SA Police said the chase was terminated “in a matter of seconds”.Friends of Mr Brar started an online fundraiser following the death to help his grieving family, who live in India, and to assist with repatriating his body back to his home state of Punjab.
