‘Sukhbir, Ram Rahim and Akshay Kumar met in Mumbai’

The special investigation team (SIT) probing into the incidents of sacrileges, on Friday recorded the statement of former MP Rajdev Singh Khalsa, who first had raised the issue of a meeting between Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Ram Rahim and SAD president Sukhbir Badal. The former MP had said that the three —Sukhbir, Gurmeet and Akshay — had held a meeting in Mumbai in September 2015.Khalsa remained firm on his earlier statement, that the meeting had discussed the issue of pardon to the dera chief and release of his film ‘Messenger of God’ (MSG). He said that in the meeting, the ground for pardon was discussed and money had exchanged hands.The SIT has already recorded statements of Sukhbir and Akshay, and both have denied that any such meeting did take place at the latter’s residence. The Bollywood actor had even denied having ever met the dera chief, and claimed to have not Sukhbir outside Punjab. Khalsa had made these allegations, of the three meeting in Mumbai, in 2016, he was with the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, an arm of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).The two-member team comprising DSP Vibhor Kumar and Inspector Anil Bhanot remained at Khalsa’s residence in Barnala for almost two hours, aking him about the authenticity of his accusations.
