‘Was framed to finish my political career’

Hours after her acquittal in the case of her daughter Harpreet Kaur’s death, SAD women’s wing president Bibi Jagir Kaur (64) said here today that she had been framed with the aim of finishing her political career.
The former SGPC president, who paid obeisance at the Golden Temple, said she had lost precious years after being dragged into the case, but the High Court judgement had given her a new lease of life and strengthened her faith in the Almighty and the judiciary.“The case was baseless and politically motivated. The past 18 years were traumatic, but I kept myself busy with religious, social and political causes. Though I have lost time and money while fighting the case, justice has prevailed,” Bibi Jagir Kaur said. “The worst sufferers were my supporters, Dalwinder Kaur Dhesi, Paramjit Singh Raipur and Nishan Singh, who were also framed,” she added.
