Serious Allegations on Manjit GK

The announcement on Tuesday by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief and Akali leader Manjit Singh GK that he had “transferred” his powers to senior vice-president Harmit Singh Kalka triggered speculation that there was a rift within, especially as a number of senior Akali leaders have raised questions on certain decisions by the party leadership in the recent past. However, GK explained he had transferred his powers to Kalka “from October 5 to 22”, which, he said, was a routine affair whenever he was to leave the station. He also dismissed rumours of his resignation. Significantly, SAD Rajya Sabha member and in-charge of Delhi affairs Balwinder Singh Bhunder and most of the DSGMC members met at GK’s residence in the morning. The DSGMC general secretary, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, was there too, said sources.Harvinder Singh Sarna, general secretary of the SAD (Delhi), Independent DSGMC member Harmit Singh Shanty and Panthak Seva Dal member Inderjit Singh Monty, in separate statements, claimed that GK had staged his “resignation drama” to divert attention from allegations of corruption against him.
