Akali leader, his brother get bail in booth-capturing case

A Gidderbaha court today granted bail to SAD leader Hardeep Singh ‘Dimpy’ Dhillon, his brother Sunny and a personal assistant, who were arrested by the Kotbhai police for allegedly capturing a polling booth on Wednesday. However, they are yet to be released from the district jail as they were booked by the Gidderbaha police in another case for an alleged bid to capture a booth. The court had remanded them in judicial custody for 14 days on Thursday.Shivraj Singh, SP, district jail, said, “We have got the bail orders in one case, but another court has sent production warrants in the other case. We have written to the court to clarify whether they can be released.”Meanwhile, former CM Parkash Singh Badal and former Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal today visited the jail and met party leaders.
