Video of Punjab Police thrashing youths at police station surfaces on social media

Less than two weeks after an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was accused of torturing and assaulting seven youths at the Sanaur police station, a video of cops led by the same official thrashing some men has surfaced.The incident purportedly took place on the premises of the same police station, it is learnt. In the five-minute video uploaded on social media, ASI Narinder Singh and other policemen are seen overpowering a Sikh youth and then thrashing him badly.
Then the ASI is seen standing on the back of the youth and hitting him with a stick.

The cops are also seen thrashing two other persons in the same video.Deputy superintendent of police (DSP rural) Gurdeep Singh Dhaliwal said during initial probe, the video was found to have been shot at the Sanaur police station.“The ASI has been identified as Narinder Singh. A report on the matter will be sent to the SSP for further action,” said the DSP, who is also investigating officer in the previous case registered against the ASI.SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said the matter is under investigation.
