Hindu Godman Asaram found guilty by Jodhpur court in minor rape case

Nearly five years after rape charges were levelled against self-styled godman, Asaram Bapu, the Jodhpur Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Court today has convicted Asaram along with all others co-accussed. The judgement in the case was pronounced inside the Jodhpur Central Jail. The five charges that are levelled against Asaram Bapu are, raping minor girl, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy and sexual harassment.

To prevent a repeat of the Panchkula violence, security has been upped in Rajasthan, Haryana and Gujarat, where a large number of his followers live.Additional forces have also been deployed at major railway stations and bus stops.
