Veteran actor Dharmendra expressed shock over the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

He said, He was deeply shocked by the death of Jayalalithaa and remembered that she was his co-star in “Izzat” film in 1968.

He said, Both stayed for nearly one-and-a-half months in Kulu-Manali (Himachal Pradesh) where Jaya along with her mother prepared food for them. Jayalalithaa played a tribal girl in the film.

Jayalalitha Jayaraman starred in only one Hindi film as a lead actress – Izzat released in 1968 and she was paired opposite Dharmendra who played a double role. She also starred as a child artist in 1961 Man Mauji where she played the role of a child dressed as Lord Krishna.

“I remember her as a fine co-star, when I worked with her in Izzat. I had been in touch with her in the past few years but not very regularly. I used to visit her many times in Chennai and she was a great host. She used to cook delicious South Indian food for us. She was a great human being. It’s a sad to hear about her demise.”
