Woman gang-raped inside RPF chowky

A young woman from suburban Thane approached the commissioner of railway police, Niket Kaushik, on Wednesday, alleging that three officials of the Railway Protection Force had sexually assaulted her at a police outpost in Diva last year.
However, officials of the railway police said they would approach her on Thursday and take down her statement as she was not very clear about the turn of events.
The woman works as a salesperson at a boutique.
Deputy commissioner of railway police (Mumbai), Rupali Ambure, confirmed that a woman had approached them to complain about the assault sometime last year. “But she was unable to recall the incident and she wasn’t mentally prepared to record her statement. The railway police will contact her again on Thursday,” said Ambure.
Senior officials of the Railway Protection Force at Diva were unavailable for comment.
