Punjab should be in hands of Punjabis: Pargat

Former hockey Olympian-turned-politician Pargat Singh, who has joined the Awaaz-e-Punjab political front, says the outfit will put Punjabiat at the forefront and create a niche for itself through a “different” style of functioning.ççPrime facie, the new front appears to be a congregation of leaders rubbed the wrong way by Kejriwal.
Announcing that their newly-formed party — Awaaz-e-Punjab — will contest on all the 117 seats in Punjab, independent legislator Simarjeet Bains said this outfit will fill the political vacuum and give people an option for electing a clean government.

Apart from Sidhu and Pargat Singh, who were reportedly ditched by Kejriwal after being invited to join the AAP, the fourth front would be joined by several former AAP leaders, including the sacked convener of its Punjab unit-Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
But, if sources are to be believed, the real mover behind the new coalition is another man yearning to avenge his humiliation by AAP — Yogendra Yadav.
Sidhu, Singh and Bains Brothers Balwinder and Simarjit — both independent MLAs once close to the Badals — met in Delhi two days ago to give final shape to the new front. The matchmaking, sources said, was done by Yadav.
