22 hurt as Free Tirath Yatra bus overturns in Fatehgarh Sahib

Around 22 passengers were hurt as a Mukh Mantri Tirath Darshan Yatra (pilgrimage travel) bus carrying over 60 passengers overturned near Sadhugarh village on Grand Trunk road (Sirhind-Rajpura) on Friday morning.
The bus was on its way from Lachhru Kalan to Amritsar, said Sarabjit Singh, station house officer, Badali Ala Singh.
15 injured passengers were sent to civil hospital Rajpura. While seven, including Shinder Ram, Swaranjit Kaur, Malkit Ram, Talwinder Kaur, bus driver Lakhwinder Singh of Taran Taran, conductor Kuldip Singh of Ghanaur and three children Pawanjot Kaur (4), Ranjana (5) and Sanjana (7) were taken to Fatehgarh Sahib. Two of them were stated critical and referred to Rajindra hospital, Patiala.
Passengers said more than 60 people boarded the bus as it reached Lachru Kalan village of Ghanaur constituency at 4.30 am. The driver lost control near Sadhugarh and the bus overturned.
However, the driver said a truck, which was moving ahead of the bus, suddenly changed lane and he lost control while applying brakes to avoid accident.
No case had been registered till the filing of this report.
Doctor Kuldip Singh at Fatehgarh Sahib civil hospital said some of them have got fractures.
