RSS leader Gagneja shifted to Ludhiana’s DMC hospital

Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leader, Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja was shifted to Hero Heart DMC Hospital, Ludhiana on Sunday as his situation remained critical.
According to Hindustan Times (HT), He was shot at by two bike-borne assailants in Jalandhar on Saturday and was being treated in local Patel Hospital. As his situation did not improve, Critical Care Unit (CCU) from DMC was called in to shift Gagneja to Ludhiana.“While two bullets have been removed from his stomach, one is still trapped in his body around the liver,” senior BJP leader and local MLA Manoranjan Kalia told PTI.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) core committee called for an emergency meeting in the afternoon, which was also attended by Punjab incharge Parkash Jha.
Heavy police force was deployed near the Hero Heart DMC Hospital as Gagneja was admitted to the ICU.
Sources from the hospital said a surgery of his liver will be carried out after proper medical examination.
Many BJP leaders reached the hospital hours before Gagneja was brought to the hospital. Chief parliamentary secretary and Amritsar (East) MLA Dr Navjot Sidhu also reached the hospital.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today condemned the murderous attack on an RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja in Jalandhar today.
In a statement issued here today, Capt Amarinder said, such attacks do not portend well for Punjab. “Such nefarious designs deserve to be nipped in the bud lest these push Punjab into anarchy”, he warned.
The PCC president said, people may not agree or approve of RSS ideology, but in a democracy everyone has a right to pursue his political and ideological beliefs.
“Such intimidation is unacceptable”, he said, while praying that the injured leader will be safe and out of danger.

Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal today strongly condemned the dastardly attack on Brig Jagdish Gagneja, Vice President of the RSS (Punjab) who was attacked in Jalandhar tonight
The Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal also condemned the incident and said that strictest and prompt action will be taken against the culprits.
Badal has directed the district civil and police authorities maintain maximum vigil against anti social elements and ensure that the culprits are apprehended at the earliest. The chief minister also immediately directed authorities in Ludhiana to arrange for a team of top senior surgeons from the local DMC to be rushed to Jalandhar to attend to Brig Gagneja.
In a statement Mr Badal condemned the attack in the strongest terms and said that there is no place for violence in a civilised and democratic society like ours. The chief minister said that Punjab is the land of the gurus, saints and seers and has always been a torch bearer to mankind for values of piece and communal harmony. ” Peace and communal harmony in the state is the first and foremost priority for me and my government and no one will be allowed to disturb it. The govt will continue to follow a policy of zero tolerance against any attempt to disturb the hard earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the state, ” said the chief minister.
0Mr Badal issued an appeal to the people of Punjab to maintain the hard earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the state at all costs. ” This is our sacred duty towards the legacy of our great guts saints and seers,” said the Chief Minister.
