Suspended Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA and hockey captain Pargat Singh said he was not joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) immediately in a press conference held in Jalandhar on Wednesday.

Pargat also launched a scathing attack on the SAD, calling it a “mentally bankrupt party.”

SAD had suspended Pargat and Inderbir Bolaria on Tuesday after they raised the banner of revolt against the party. Pargat described his suspension as “good riddance”.
Its notable that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal suspended Pargat Singh and Inderbir Singh Bolaria (both MLAs) from the party on Tuesday evening.
In a statement released to the media from the party head office in Chandigarh, the party Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that this decision was taken by the SAD president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal in consultation with the senior members of the party. He said that after continuously watching the anti party behavior of both the leaders, all senior leaders advised the party president to deal indiscipline with a firm hand. He further said that the next course of action will be decided by the core committee of the party which is being convened shortly.
