Sri Akal Takht Sahib’s Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh ( removed as Jathedar of Akal Takht by Sarbat Khalsa on 10th November, 2015) annoyed over Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal’s photograph in the dress of a Nihang on the cover of National Hindi Magazine ‘India Today’ and warned him for that.

Several Nihang organisations today expressed anger against Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for his “depiction as a Nihang” on the cover page of a magazine.

Kejriwal, who himself and his party AAP is under fire for the use of photograph of Golden Temple with party’s election symbol broom on Youth Manifesto released by him and for Ashish Khetan’s blunder of equating the Manifesto with Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Gita and the Bible, landed in a fresh row, when the Hindi edition of India Today carried his photograph depicting him as a Nihang.

A meeting of the Nihang Singhs convened by Sant Baba Nihal Singh chief of Tarna Dal Harian Welan, said that if Kejriwal didn’t know about this goof-up then he should act against the Editor of the Magazine.

“If he does not do so, it would become clear that he was a party to the decision of using his picture as a Nihang,” he said adding that in such a case Kejriwal should be ready to face the wrath of Sikhs.

The meeting was attended by Sant Baba Makhan Singh Tarna Dal, Baba Man Singh Macchian Wale, Baba Avtar Singh Panth Dal Bidhi Chand, Baba Tara Singh Jhar Sahib, Baba Tarsem Singh Tarna Dal Ludhiana Wale, Baba Manmohan Singh Bahan wale, Baba Singh, Tarsem Singh Moranwali, Baba Nazar Singh Tatumajra and others.

All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) decided to move court against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly hurting religious sentiments after the AAP convener’s photo appeared on the front page of a weekly showing him as ‘Nihang’.
