Bittu takes on SAD-BJP over drug abuse

By June 30, 2016 0 Comments

A day after CM Parkash Singh Badal stated that the magnitude of drug abuse in the state was much lesser compared to several other states, Congress leaders led by MPs Ravneet Singh Bittu and Shamsher Singh Dullo today squarely blamed the SAD-led ruling coalition for the problem.
Raising the issue in the Majithia bastion, the Congress leaders said that the issue of drugs would be high on the party’s agenda in the Assembly elections.
The senior leadership had gathered here for a zonal-level workers meet to boost the morale of the party.
“If there is no drug problem in the state, then why is the government putting huge number of persons behind bars and setting up a network of rehabilitating centres? It is unfortunate that the Punjab Government is still in denial mode,” said Bittu.
Dullo said saving the state’s youth would be the party’s priority after coming to power. “We would make Punjab a drug-free state,” he said.
