Watch what SGPC Chief Avtar Makkar to say about Dhyan Singh Mand’s call for Sukhbir Badal

Its notable jathedars, appointed during the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ held last year, on Friday made a sudden appearance at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and passed a ‘Gurmata’ seeking a detailed report from deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal by July 20 on Bargari sacrilege incident and Behbal Kalan firing, in which two Sikhs were killed.

After paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum, the three ‘jathedars’, including Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal (Jathedar Takht Sri Damdama Sahib) and Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala (Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib), entered Sri Akal Takht Sahib and spent around 20 minutes there and held a brief meeting. Later, they passed the ‘gurmata’. Interacting with the media at the Golden Temple plaza, Dhyan Singh Mand read out the ‘gurmata’ written on a parallel letter head of the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs and signed by the three ‘jathedars’.

“No accused have so far been held in connection with the sacrilege incidents held at different places, including Burj Jawahar Singh Wala and Bargari, and killing of Sikh protesters in firing at Behbal Kalan. Sikh masses are furious over the inaction. Being home minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh badal is being directed to submit the investigation report of these incidents till July 20”, the ‘gurmata’ read.

It also asked the Sikh masses to stay away from the International Yoga Day celebrations, maintaining that there is no place for yoga in Sikhism and Sikh should observe this day by reciting Gurbani, playing gatka and participating in wrestling.
The ‘jathedars’ also summoned members of the management committee of a gurdwara at Virginia (US) on August 20 for altering Sikh maryada (Sikh code of ethics) during ‘Amrit Sanchar’
